Our First Adoption

When little Alex came to live with us just a few short months ago, we never imagined we'd be saying goodbye to him so quickly.  However, just a little over a week ago Alex left with his new mom.  When Alex was abandoned shortly after his birth a man and woman cared for him for 10 days before turning him into the authorities.  The same family started the process to adopt him and their process was finalized just a little over a week ago.  Alex captured our hearts and everyone here, including the kids, loved him.  While saying goodbye is bittersweet, we are thankful for the time we got to spend and invest in his life.  More importantly, we are thankful that there is one less orphan in the world.  Here are a few photos of Alex being united with his mother:
